On the Way

cherry red
stop sign
two swans tucked
under a step
one leaf
where are the old postcards?
what would Anwar Sadat do
if he were here?
orange backpack
behind a motorcyclist
at least eighteen people
murdered in Lewiston
a raven
a tractor
two empty nests
cones next to recycling bins
acceleration
the fine points
of this particular noise
she’s not a punishment
I’m not a failure
that raccoon
is definitely dead
one buck
big antlers
running left
away from me
thank goodness
did I ever leap in the air?
